Family Law in New Hampshire Creating Proactive Protections
Attorney Sekella is in a unique position to provide a divorce financial assessment as a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® practitioner by drawing on her years of experience as a family law attorney. A CDFA® practitioner is qualified to provide a financial assessment of your marital estate for your impending divorce process before or during litigation. If the parties agree to utilize Attorney Sekella’s services as a CDFA® professional, she can assist with the parties’ understanding valuation and dividing property, retirement plans and pensions, spousal and child support, tax issues involved in divorce, employment benefits, dividing real estate and other marital property. To be clear, in this capacity, Attorney Sekella is a neutral third-party advisor and is not providing legal advice for one party or the other, but providing different options for an equitable financial settlement for the parties to choose which outcome works best for them. Alternatively, Attorney Sekella can assist one party as an expert by providing a financial analysis that considers the client’s desired terms of an agreement and the opposing party’s proposed terms. As a CDFA® practitioner, Attorney Sekella can perform a financial analysis which considers the client’s transition to a new financial lifestyle post-divorce.
Other CDFA® professionals in New Hampshire are primarily financial advisors. Financial advisors, although very helpful to assist you in managing your assets post-divorce, do not have the knowledge or experience that Attorney Sekella has as a practicing family law attorney for over 24 years. Attorney Sekella has negotiated financial agreements in divorce and has also litigated cases as a Certified Financial Litigator™ where the financials in the marital estate were in dispute. Attorney Sekella can “wear a different hat” depending upon the needs of the potential client.
